Eddy Vaskez began his artistic training at the Casa de la Cultura Oaxaqueña, continuing at the Taller Rufino Tamayo and the Taller Juan Alcázar. He also specialized in lithography under the guidance of master Per Anderson. Born in a land of great tradition, where the voices of great artists resonate from ancient times to the present, to contribute his own voice, magic, and color to the dialogue of contemporary art. His work unfolds like a vibrant tapestry, with swift lines traced by delicate butterflies and restless mosquitoes that assault the crescent moon, heralding the good rains to come. In his compositions, he seeks lost dreams within empty vessels or ones filled with everything, while insects accompany the path of mysterious canoes in silence, sailing toward a destination that seems beyond the canvas but is so within it that it reveals itself with a careful look. Women with fish tails and long hair extend their hands, attempting to pluck the moon from the heights of the composition, creating scenes that challenge the imagination and transport the viewer to fantastical and lively worlds.
