Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Monterrey (2014). Winner of the 2024 Loewe Global Craft Prize, Andrés has used ceramics since 2010 to create amorphous beings that appear to belong to a known ecosystem but are unrecognizable because they are drawn from the realm of abstract imagination. The volume, relief, and rich texture demand that the pieces be viewed from multiple angles; seeing them is an exercise in recognition and an invitation to understand the unknown.
