Ximena Gamboa Nieto (1997) is a painter and visual artist. She was raised in the city of Mérida, Mexico. She studied the bachelor in Visual Arts. In 2019 he was selected to spend a semester as a guest student at the Kunstakademie (Academy of Arts) in Münster, Germany. This event will mark a before and after in all aspects related to her artistic production, technical, personal and even emotional. She graduated from UNAY (Universidad de las Artes de Yucatán) in 2020 during the pandemic, another event that will permanently mark the artist's modes of pictorial reference. In 2020 she was awarded the first place in the category of artists under 30 for the Biennale José Atanasio Monroy, with her painting "Farbe und Bewegung". She is currently dedicated to independent production, her new studio being located in Ullanlinna, Helsinki and a temporary studio in Raasepori, allowing her to start a series with brand new eyes. Inspired not only by the colorful Finnish nature but by the Finnish way of living.
