“Color is a metaphor that transcends time, memory, and identity.”– Gaston Bachelard
Alexa Torre’s work in Rosa Sublime is more than a chromatic exploration; it is a profound journey into the complexity of being and its connection with time, space, and the dimensions of human perception. In this series, color becomes a language that dissolves the boundaries between the tangible and the utopian. Beyond its aesthetic function, color acts as a symbolic catalyst, allowing memory, spirituality, and desire to intertwine within a visual space that challenges traditional notions of femininity.
In her photographic practice, the artist´s body becomes a canvas of creation and reconfiguration. Her identity is rediscovered and redefined through a perspective imbued with ambiguity, longing, and evocation. Each image presents itself as a layer of introspection that reveals a dialogue between multiple visual dialects: religion, desire, fragments of Mexican culture, and a timeless perception of the imaginary. Alexa transforms the image of the female body into a territory of meaning, where transience and eternity coexist, exploring a poetic narrative that unfolds with both subtlety and strength.
Rosa Sublime represents not only the artist’s aesthetic pursuit but also an act of visual resistance that reshapes the symbolic space and transforms the viewer´s experience into and intimate and transformative reflection.
